Company Business Nature:

Singapore multinational insurance company with multiple branches in Southeast Asia region, which is also a subsidiary of a Singapore public listed bank.

 

Location: KL City, reachable by public transport

Working Days/Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 6pm (+meetings with London team based on their time zone)

 

Key Responsibilities:

Summary:
Under compliance department. To conduct fraud analysis and compliance surveillance on Agency Business for the company and enforce sound agency management practices. In addition, to develop risk indicators and methodology in profiling of undesired agency practices, supervise or undertake market conduct supervision activities to detect/ prevent potential fraud by agents/customers. This person is mostly on reporting and pre-prevention action, not focusing on investigation.

  • Conduct fraud and market conduct analysis, detection and compliance surveillance in relation to agency compliance.
  • Establish, develop, enhance and conduct key risk indicators for agent profiling.
  • Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best market conduct & fraud risk management practices.
  • Develop/enhance methodology in agency profiling of undesired agency practices. Collect and analyze data from misconduct/fraud cases for preventive and educational initiatives.
  • As part of the leadership team, work with key stakeholders to proactively shape the organization’s culture and conduct environment that is aligned to the organization’s Core Values.
  • Supervise/undertake fraud analysis and conduct compliance surveillance in relation to agency compliance, i.e. market survey.
  • Take accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and take appropriate steps to mitigate the risks, especially Market Conduct Risk and Fraud Risk.
  • Monitoring fraud and misconduct issues/cases and promptly report to Management, Group, and Regulator.
  • Liaison with applicable authorities, regulators and other oversight departments for intermediary’s fraud and market conduct related to supervision issues.
  • Ensure all fraud and market misconduct cases are reported to BNM within the stipulated time frame given and ensure database for all misconduct/fraud cases are well maintained.
  • Conduct briefing/training to relevant departments, agency force and vendor to minimize fraud and anti-bribery & corruption risk to create greater awareness amongst them.
  • Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats, and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
  • Champion culture and conduct behavioral expectations within the Department/Division.
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects as assigned by superior/ HOD/ Head, Compliance.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Tertiary or professional qualification in Accountancy / Finance / Law or Insurance (FLMI, FMII etc).
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) is an added advantage.
  • At least 5 – 7 years in investigation, internal audit, insurance or banking industry. Experience in handling investigation/complaints.
  • Must be familiar with insurance law and related regulations, agency and contract law, policy terms and conditions, product knowledge and features, and good comprehension of compliance methodologies.

 

Salary: Up to RM13,000

Report To: AVP

Team Size: Managing 1 subordinate.
